What legal tender means

The U.S. Mint glossary defines legal tender as coins, paper bills or other currency issued by a government as official money.

Private tokens and medals

The Mint describes a medal as a metal object resembling a coin, generally with no stated value and not intended to circulate as money. Private commemorative tokens similarly should not be assumed to be legal tender.

U.S. commemorative coins are different

Congress-authorized U.S. Mint commemorative coins are legal tender even though they are not minted for general circulation. That status comes from government authorization.

Trump Token context

PatriotPiece found no statement on the PaytrioTrade product page identifying this item as U.S. legal tender or a U.S. Mint coin.
